Whats the best app  for the note20 ultra to track a route I've  been on. I hear the bands and watches are able to do this, is there a way to directly do this  through the phone without other devices.

you can install Google fit for tracking your workouts.
and samsung health will track your workouts too if you enable it

does this record the locations I go on a map, just looked at it. I don't think it does

You could try an app like Strava. I believe it records what you want. Give it a try.
