So after 2 days of a conversation with the Samsung Twitter Team they finally admit this is a software problem.

The only way right now to make my note 20 ultra look vibrant and bright, is to make the brightness 100%. My previous phone s8+ display compared to the note 20 ultra looks miles better!

I have no idea how long it will take samsung to develop an update which will fix this display issue as it took them almost 1 year to pull out the 3.0 UI update.

I purchased this phone at start of November and paid a ton load for it and I'm very very disappointed.

May I assume you've had a play around with the Vivid Mode, white balance and advanced settings @AMRKHN

Do you use Dark Mode  ?

I have read other posts where people are disappointed that the colours on the N20 Ultra do not pop like other phone's.

I've noticed this too. I've only had this phone for 4 days and the dim screen is pretty bad so far. I've found that it only gets bright enough for use in normal lighting when you start dragging the slider into the red range of the brightness bar. I've also checked with a lux meter and this UK version on normal max brightness only gets up to 700 nits on my phone. Hopefully they can fix this with a software update like you said.

The other thing I've noticed are pictures on this screen has very little contrast. I've taken a picture on the note and then Bluetooth the picture over to my old one plus 7 pro and compared the same picture. What I've noticed is there's less mid range shadows on the note screen. On the note the picture just looks flat whereas on my old one plus the picture is more striking with contrast between the bright and dark areas. I'm hopeful they will come out with a software fix. All they have to do is decrease the green level in the calibration and increase the contrast by 1 or 2 notches.

Fair enough @AMRKHN

For me I'm good with how my N20 Ultra performs and display looks which is set to normal, which is a Snapdragon version i imported into the UK,  but I can't see that making a difference  ?

I'm not sure how we can compare screens ?

Hopefully if enough people send the feedback through their Samsung Members App they will sit up and take notice and push an improvement with one of the updates  !

I also do not understand how there are a total of 50 people including redit and Google search results who are reporting this problem. I have also seen other note 20 ultras in shops which have the same problem. why aren't people reporting this??

Unbox Therapy on YouTube and Jerryrigeverything also commented on this how the screen on note 20 ultra just looks worse. Jerryrigeverything he actually comparing note 20 ultras exynos to the snapdragon.

Ignore the Exynos vs Snapdragon debate. Doesn't really affect us if we just use the phone like normal people. :smiling-face: Its the screen I wish they would fix!!

yes I saw both of their videos before my purchase and regret why I didn't listhen. every other thing about the phone is amazing its just this display that is soo bad. I mean it just about competes with other phones when on full brightness or else all the white looks yellow. even their twitter team said this is a software issue. if it is then where is the update???
