Closing the LED View Cover on Note 20 stops video recording

I have an LED View Cover on my Samsung Galaxy Note 20 - cover that looks like a small diary and has a flip cover.

If I am recording a video through the rear camera and then close the flip cover, the phone stops the recording automatically. That is rather annoying because sometimes I want to just place the phone in one place and leave it to record long videos and I want to shut the screen to save battery. It seems I can't do that. Does anyone know how I can continue to record videos while the LED (flip) cover is closed?

Mind you, if you want to record audio, the phone does allow you to do so while the flip cover is closed. So why can't I do the same thing with videos?

@Leosam: Please be aware that it isn't possible to record a video in the Camera app if the app is minimised, or the phone is idle/locked. With this in mind, when you close the LED View Cover, this will place the phone in an idle state, and this is why the recordings are automatically stopping.
