Buying a note 20 Ultra in America for use in the UK

Hey everyone,

Read lots about the two chips in the Note 20 Ultra phones and feel like I would want the Snapdragon 865.

My mum lives in the US so I'm considering buying on there and using it in the UK.

I've done a fair amount of reading and I can't see any reason why this would be a problem, as long as the phone was unlocked. Do anyone know any different? Has anyone else done this?

This would be my first Samsung phone, having done lots of reading I think it would be a good fit for my lifestyle/needs, but out of interest, would anyone have any suggestions about other phones that might be worth investigating?

With thanks,

Don't get the USA model.

Get the Hong Kong version.

Yes people have reported 5G working for them.

Check out the relevant posts on xdadevelopers.com in the Note 20 questions section.

Nothings guaranteed but as 5G doesn't really improve surfing speeds it's not a deal breaker for me and as I'm Payg I can't use 5G anyway @KierBarn

The other area I failed to mention is Samsung warranty. You'll also forfeit the samsung uk 24 months backed warranty.

Sweet BandOfBrothers thank you. Although it doesn’t say SM-9820 it says SM-N9860 but I think it’s the same - it says it’s the Hong Kong one

WondaMobile apply a 12 month warranty to the phone.

I've not yet tested my local Samsung Experience Store to see if they'll offer support if needed.

Also my phone's are covered by my Home Contents Insurance Policy.

Do you know if all of the other Samsung apps work? Like Samsung themes and wallpapers etc?
