Bricked?

Help
just intalled the UI3 and OS11 update, and it seems to have bricked the phone...

Last saw the update screen at 84% got called away for 10 odd mins, screen was dark so pressed power button, and has been stuck on the splash screen for 30+ minutes. 
I have tried to bring up recovery mode and that (power +vol up) isnt happening either.. 

Anyone got any advice

Phew - after a further 5 mins (40 total) came up with the white display at bottom of screen - "Updating Applications"  - so i guess you just neen to be patient... lol - would have been helpful if there had been some indication of update in process
