Bluetooth Speaker Notification Sound

Here's an idea:

When the device is connected to an external audio device (my Bluetooth speaker), it would be a great option to be able to get your notification sounds through your phone only and not the speaker. There's nothing more annoying than the beat about to drop and you receive a notification just to buzzkill the moment. I have to put my device on vibrate when playing music, then end up missing out on notifications.

@JenSarah: If you want your Bluetooth speaker to only play your media sound, then please head to Settings > Sounds and Vibration > Separate App Sound > Turn On Now. Select the app your want to play separately, and the speaker you want the play the audio through, and you should be good to go. I hope this helps. ^AL

The biggest problem is that all sounds go to bluetooth or wired headphones including key press sounds, and one can miss important emails, messages etcetera. 

I really hate that I can't disable it. I use my wired headphones alot

This does not stop notification sounds from coming through headphones, or Bluetooth devices though.

Besides that the music is ALREADY coming through the Bluetooth device anyway, so what is the point of setting it to come through the Bluetooth device again under separate app sounds?

What we need is the option in separate app sounds to select ALL NOTIFICATIONS & system sounds to come out through the phones speakers only instead of any headphones or Bluetooth devices, that way it will never interrupt our music again.

No, you didn't understand it. You set (or keep) the main audio output to "This phone" and then select an app or multiple apps that you want to play through another device (e.g. a Bluetooth speaker or headphones) and what device it should be under Settings > Sounds and Vibration > Separate App Sound. This way, only those explicitly selected apps will be playing through that another device and everything else, including the system sounds, notifications, ringtones, but also any other apps, will be playing through your phone's speaker. That ensures that selected apps playing through that another device never get interrupted by anything else.

I'm not sure that this helps. I actually need to hear notifications and ringtones in my headphones, otherwise I won't hear that someone's calling, for example, when I have headphones on my ears.

What I need is to never get interrupted by anything else when some app is playing music over big (Bluetooth) speakers. And that's exactly what the Separate App Sound features is doing. You select what apps should be playing over a specific device (that Bluetooth speakers) and everything else will be playing over phone's speaker.

Anyway, the Sound Assistant is a great app, it allows various useful tweaks of the sound output (e.g. set smaller volume change step, customize the volume panel, set individual app volume, sync Bluetooth sound with video, etc.), but I don't see how the Alerts through headphones feature may be useful.

Hi all.

The "Alerts through headphones" option on Sound Assistant is this close to getting me the setup I'm looking for, except that I would like for all system sounds to come through the phone when Bluetooth headphones are connected. Ringtone, alarms and notifications are the main ones, but not all.

One that I'm really missing are keyboard sounds, which I know some people hate but it's my typing feedback of choice.

Does anybody know of an alternative app or setting that would set all system sounds to the phone?

Incidentally, I've tried to add the keyboard to "Separate app sound" and set it to "Phone" but the phone ignores the setting. I'm guessing that it's because the typing sound is not media, and "Separate app sound" works for media only.

Anyone?
