UBS-C Earphones that came with phone not working

I recently got the Samsung Galaxy Note 10, and bought an adapter off the Internet to charge my phone and listen through earphones at the same time, however this didn't work and since I tried my earphones in the adapter the earphones are not working, and when I plug them in its saying "Charging connected device via USB" please help as I need these earphones to work for online schooling. Thanks

Quite a lot of usb-c to 3.5mm adapters don't work with the note 10 as the DAC (Digital to Audio Converter) was removed with the removal of the 3.5mm jack, you need to purchase an adapter that comes with a DAC built in to it.
