McAfee: how important is it?

Has anyone activated this built in software and do you feel it slows performance?

I personally decide not to activate this feature @Urrl  and yes it will use resources that may slightly affect performance and so this has the potential to use more battery _ albeit I assume not that much.

I feel the phone has enough Safe guards internally for my peace of mind and I apply caution and common sense.

I use Ad blockers too to stop ad's popping up that may have hidden links in them.

I do not click on links in emails that I'm not familiar with.

I'm also careful on what I access online and do not access public wifi.

Other options exist in the Playstore too.

Now this is my personal opinion and you should set up your own phone as you see fit.

If you have the McAfee program, then it surely provides some protection and safety to the device. However, it also sometimes affects performance. Also, due to running in the background all the time it consumes a little battery than usual. However, it does not affect much. So, you can activate or deactivate it as per your choice.
