Hold down on that specific chat- click bell icon with a line through- mute notifications. Then you dont need DND for your entire phone.....

Yeah I already did that but the other chats... we have like a thousand group chats

I'd just turn off WhatsApp notifications at that point.

Could be my closest friends, and I'd leave the group with that many notifications
