You can't downgrade.

All android phones will go in the same direction with android 16 so getting a new device won't help.

If you stop installing updates, you open your device to exploits, bugs and malware. So not installing updates is never an option anyone should consider.

Try to get used to it if you can, it's the same as windows updating. If windows never updated, we'd still be on win 98

Lots of threads already about customising that enables most users to set their devices the way they want them 🙏
I am not employed by Samsung nor do I receive any remuneration as a Samsung Members Star.

My device is an S25 Ultra.

Check out some videos of android 16 on the Google pixel series and you'll see they're totally different to Samsung One Ui. For instance the control panel and notifications are together although there's an extra swipe to get to see the notifications. Also the search bar in the app drawer is still at the top. It's wrong to say all phones are the same on android 16. They all have there own skins on top of android and all work slightly differently. Sorry, but it's my pet hate when people on here blame the things that people don't like about One Ui 7 on android 15. The truth is that Samsung could have kept One Ui looking and working exactly the same with the upgrade to android 15. I don't mind the changes myself, some area could be improved but generally it's ok.

Samsung has really dropped ball on ui7 interface. Yeah no option to go back even on factory reset. I'd rather stick on 6.1 long as possible till things improve with ui9 or 10. If they don't then might have to consider a more standard Android experience without Samsungs ui slapped over it

You don't need constant updates... The phone will work fine... It's just scaremongering from the Samsung fan boys on here..

You kinda do, mainly for security reasons. Stop updates for maybe 6 months and there's a good chance me with a laptop can wirelessly nab all the data on that phone.

And for constant general updates, your phone is getting free new features after you bought it...

Once a year your phone gets a fresh coat of paint and a renewed look and feel. It's a feature of a good device. The S series costs more and sells well because they offer 7 years of full updates, 7 years of the phone being fresh and modern. The A series phones usually get 2 years of full updates, then a final year of security updates.

There are devices that you can get that never update, though they are more in the flip phone section.
