Is there any way to avoid all system updates? I like my phone the way it is, stop changing things around. What gives samsung and android the right to disable MY phone until I download and install their software?

im guessing it's similar to mine since we're in the same section of the forum.  even that option doesnt auto update system, it only downloads the update and then makes you install it

This is the galaxy A series section, i have a Galaxy Note series, but this is an android problem so i am able to help with it.

Im not sure what you mean, i showed 2 screenshots. 1 shows the auto download setting, which is automatically download the update and then start pestering you to install it or postpone it.
The 2nd screenshot shows the auto update setting which will install the update automatically upon a restart, providing it has already been installed.

ya that's what i'm saying, auto update system doesnt actually update the system, it only downloads the update automatically.  that's why i was confused.

What do you do when everything turned off for updating and it forces you to update?

Whoever is claiming the carriers and phone companies aren't forcing these updates on you is either lying,  ignorant or passing on propaganda.

Samsung, tmobile, att, verizon, etc ALL force them on you.   It you click "not now" it only postpones it.  Phone automatically does the download and install after 2-3 postpones.  Have everything (all apps, ph, etc on do not auto update, do not tun in background, and do not allow app to make changes to phone, etc.   They still update on their own, still make changes and revert back to auto upate, work in background, make changes, etc.

This is totally false for androids for sure, everything off and still forces updates.  Can postpone for 1-3 times yes but it after that it auto download installs whether you want it to or not.

I have this off and it still forces updates and changes it back to auto,  etc.

Same guys. On my S10 5G, There isn't an option to disable the automatic updates permanently. It simply gives us a notification for a deadline date and will auto install regardless. Perhaps one day, we will all live with the rights to have our phones as we please. 😊🌎❤️
