Long texts or texts with pictures attached can convert to MMS messages @crocksue

These are typically chargeable by your network.

And some mobile accounts need to be provisioned by the network to be able to send MMS messages.

I don't think so. Only had this phone a week.

The recipients of the message may also need to check any relevant blocking facility in their phone's.

Also clear your call and text history to see if that helps.
