Do you mean the app updating itself or the apps you have in your Playstore MyLibrary updating themselves.
I have mine set to update at anytime under the Auto Update Apps section in my Playstore settings
Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁴ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.
