🙂, If you go into Settings > Sounds and Vibration, you should be able to change your systemwide notification sound.
Then, if you want to set a custom sound for SMS messages, go into the Samsung Messages app and go to Settings > Notifications > Notifications (Slot 1*). You should be able to change the sound there!
* - You may or may not see "Slot 1", depending on if your phone is a dual-SIM model or not. You can set different sounds for different SIMs, but make sure you choose the correct SIM!
