Perhaps navigate to the smart things app info in the Playstore to check out the information about the app to see if anything has changed.

Which model of A phone are you using ?
I remember when setting up Smartthings on my phone it took a few tries to get things sorted. i.e shuttingbthe app down and restarting and checking its permissions etc in Settings , Apps, Smartthings.
