SIM vanish after update

Hi.. I have an A42 5g which received an update yesterday afterwhich my SIM card is no longer recognised. I'm only able to make emergency calls. I was receiving texts and calls as usual until the update came through. Now it won't even recognise that there is a SIM in place. Nothing wrong with the SIM.. how do I solve this? Thanks

Have you tried another sim in your phone just to remove possible faulty sim?

I've had the same issue with the new update on my s21.

I did yes, and even after a factory reset, it wouldn't work.. its since been collected by Samsung and gone off for repair.

That's would be my next suggestion

It seems to be a random issue across the series, but mainly S and A. They of course are updated at different stages so there a few cases of S series handsets having the same issue bit I couldn't find any one story regarding the A series. It'll be interesting to see what comes back from repair.
