My son's A6 phone screen is starting to pull away from the phone. Must be the adhesive giving way? My question is would it need a screen replacement or could new adhesive be applied?

Please get this checked out soonest and don't charge the phone. The glue doesn't usually give way which could mean a swollen battery. Charging one of those could lead to an explosion. If you are under warranty contact Samsung otherwise get it professionally repaired. Screen should be fine so not an expensive job.

To keep the manufacturers warranty intact @Markie1966 please seek support from a Samsung Experience Store or Samsung Service Centre.

They'll assess the phone and if the problem falls under the umbrella of the warranty then the repair will be free of charge.
