When I'm playing music why does it sometimes crackle? To clear it I have to switch my phone off and then on again. Happens about once a week. Help please!

Look to see if you have any updates pending @UlghamJonni  and try other earphones / headphones.

Try another music app as a process of elimination maybe !

I primarily listen to music through Spotify which presents no quality problems.

I wish you all the best. Take care.  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Hi @UlghamJonni if  updates, using other earphones/other service does not provide a solution  an idea to Boot n Safe Mode and Restart (in case any 3rd party apps causing issue). To boot into Safe Mode:

  1. completely power off the phone .

  2. Turn on the device and when the Samsung logo appears, press and hold the Volume down key.

  3. If done correctly, "Safe mode" will display on the bottom left corner of the screen. If "Safe mode" does not appear, repeat the previous steps.

Another idea is to wipe the cache partition:

1. Turn off the device.
2Press and hold the Volume Up key and then press and hold the Power key . Should not need to connect to computer in A series.
3. When the Android logo displays, release all three keys.
4. An 'Installing system update' message will show for 30 - 60 seconds before the Android system recovery menu options appear.
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
6. Press Power key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

A factory Reset would be the last Resort, would need to ensure Data is backed up before doing this.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.
