Hi @stlkr   You have not named your device, though as far as I an aware m4a is generally supported. However some file formats may not always work with  the Samsung Music Player.  You could try something like Video Lan Player that plays a variety of formats. https://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-android.html#:~:text=VLC%20for%20Android%20is%20a,filters%2C%2...

There is also the option to convert to MP3 Via  convertor programs or itunes https://www.trustedreviews.com/how-to/convert-m4a-files-mp3-3943948

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

Sorry, updated my post - it is A70 and Samsung Music is 16.2.27.5. I noticed that before they were played, but now stopped. AIMP is able to play these files w.o. issues.
And yes I know about other players and conversion to mp3, but would be nice to play in SM w.o. conversion 🙂

@stlkr  oh right,  m4a is supported type in specifications https://www.devicespecifications.com/en/model/67935017

You seem to have the latest update for Samsung Music and take it no other updates pending.

M4a files stopped being supported from note 10 onwards I am not too sure why but there was a reason behind it I recall, workaround is to use another media player, I personally use poweramp
