Ah, i see what your problem is. If the phone is on and has WiFi connection the best way is to log in to the samsung find my phone and do a backup of your files.

Hi, I tried that but I dont get the option to do it, might be because I never set it up on my phone initially.

Yes if you plug in a USB to HDMI cable it will show your screen.
Depending on what your settings are it may default to DEX mode.

The issue with the A53 is it doesnt support MHL so I think I cant just use a USB to HDMI cable and instead need a USB C to HDMI adaptor into which I plug in a HDMI cable, but Im not sure if even that will work

I think maybe you will need to get the screen fixed first then.

Sorry I meant USB to HDMI.
But I see your module does not support MHL.
It's a usb2 port in disguise of a USBC.
I don't know if using a USB 2 to hdmi adaptor will work. It may need to be a powered one.
Check Amazon. Order a few and try and if not return.
Nothing but a bit of time to loose. 🙏
If you get it to work please open a new post with details of what worked.
