Samsung A40 after taking a picture the image does not appear in the gallery

After taking a picture rhe image does not appear in the gallery, there is just a blank picture with nothing in it. Any ideas?

Has this always happened @Ned104  or is this a recent issue ?

You could try clearing the cache in your Gallery App @Ned104 

Settings.  Apps. Gallery. Location.  Storage.Clear Cache.

If no joy consider then clearing the data which will clear the Gallery.

Hi the phone has always done this, as it's only a week old. I took a picture earlier today and it was in the gallery for a while. It has been replace now and shows a circle with an exclamation mark in the centre.
