I bought my A25 5G around 15 months ago. After three months I noticed the battery was draining quickly even when not in use. After switching on in the morning the battery would drain quickly but a reboot would cure it for the remainder of the day. After a few weeks even that process stopped working and the battery drain was constant. I posted about this problem a year ago and received several replies but none of the solutions worked. I am a very light user and tend to use my 'phone for calls and WhatsApp. I have uninstalled all the apps that I can, turned off all notifications and automatic updates, done a factory reset and have cleaned the cache partition many times but the drain continued. 5 to 6% an hour in standby. I found that if I put my 'phone in power saving mode shortly after turning it on the battery drain slowed to almost nothing. Then came the latest One UI update!!! Even in power saving mode the battery now drains at 5 to 6% an hour in standby with 5G and Wi Fi switched off. Only flight mode seems to stop it. I bought a cheap Ulefone off Amazon and run all my apps on that because the Samsung is unusable. The Ulefone is absolutely brilliant! None of the unwanted garbage which Samsung deluge us with. I feel as though Samsung have stolen money off me because I have had a 'phone for 15 months now which is pretty well unusable. All Samsung can do is churn out the same "solutions" which I have already done. Absolutely no acceptance on their part that there could be a problem. I have had it with them. My 7th Samsung and my last. I am paying for software I don't want and will never use and why on earth should I have to have an account with them I don't want?? I simply want a usable 'phone. I was getting by with it until the new update and am now back to square one. What on earth is causing the battery to drain so fast in power saving mode unless it is a fault with the update? I honestly don't expect any sense from Samsung but any sensible ideas are welcome. Thanks.

Thanks. You may have sensed that I was somewhat irritated with ukraina2. When you have had more than a year of frustration having someone tell you that their device is working fine and then challenging what you have said is not at all helpful and not, in my opinion, in the spirit of these forums.

Just a quick note to update the position. Over the 15 months I have owned the 'phone I have noted that on the day I charged the battery it would keep it's charge for the rest of the day without excessive battery drain. The 'phone was set to stop charging at 80%. I always turn my 'phone off at night and on again in the morning. It was always the day after charging that the battery drain became excessive. Whilst looking for a solution to the problem one suggestion was to charge to 100% and run the battery down completely to zero. As I am desperate for a solution I thought I would try this. I did so and when I charged it to 100% again the battery only drained by a few % on the first day. I decided not to turn it off at night and simply to put it in silent mode. The battery drained only 2% overnight and the following day the battery drain was still normal. I have now kept the 'phone on for five days and battery drain has been normal. I am keeping my fingers well and truly crossed that keeping it on all the time in conjunction with charging to 100% may be the solution. My research indicates that opinion is split on whether to turn off at night or leave on although a reboot every couple of weeks should be done. I will give it another few weeks and if all is still ok I will mark this as a solution.
