@Lou99: Sorry to hear of your disappointment. This is an issue with the apps themselves unfortunately, and can't be resolved natively in the phone's settings. Although not ideal, I recommend taking pictures using the stock camera app, and importing them to Instagram or Messenger to avoid the issue. It is also worth checking My Apps and Games in the Google Play Store to see if there are any updates available that might address this.
