So I took all the photos off the old sd card, slapped it onto my windows 10 computer and they show up fine.
Tried to view the photos inside the gallery app - nada - just greyed out photo images with exclamation mark.
Funny thing is that the files are all visible inside the folders app (on the new phone)
I have some background knowing how files are saved, and it looks like there is some issues with samsung when they write jpeg files onto the sd card.
note to developer team: I suspect that when jpeg files or are written into exFAT (to the sd card) there needs to be some more coding that needs to be done. This really shouldn't be happening.
