That's weird as updating the phone's software shouldn't do this @PaulJordan
Step 1. Put your phone into Safe Mode which disables downloaded apps and then see what happens.
Step 2. Can you try a different charging power brick and cord.
Step 3. If your phone has wireless charging does this method work ?
Step 4. If a factory reset does not work as a very last resort then consider going to a Samsung Experience Store or Samsung Service Centre who can take a look.
