I was just playing a game when my screen suddenly went black. I thought the game just crashed but the Samsung boot off logo appeared which was weird when I still had 50% battery. The phone just immediately booted up but as soon as the bootup appeared 5 secs later it showed the boot down screen. It didn't even show the home screen just boot up  blank  boot down blank  boot up and repeat. We took it to the Samsung store it was bought from but sadly there wasn't a technician there and they suggested we just wait for the battery to die and charge it back up, we did that but there was no changes. The bootloop stopped when the battery died but as soon as I give it power the bootloop resumes.

Is there anything I can do before resorting to go to a Samsung repair shop?

I just spoke to Samsung customer service.
There doesn't seem to be a way to fix the problem without losing all your data
If you were to bring it to a technician they will just change the mainboard if all that is displaying is the Samsung logo
and that is where the data is stored.
To save time, I will try to factory reset it first.

update:  factory reset did nothing, it is still in a loop. This is possibly a hardware problem.

same happening with me when editing photos on Lightroom for Samsung. It just shuts down then as you said 5 seconds later back on. I'm not even editing large pictures or high resolution either.

I am hoping to not having to resort to a factory reset since I have important data on my phone for school projects.

This same problem has happened to me. After my phone reached 0% and I tried charging it, it was stuck on the bootup logo
and I have tried everything in order to fix it, be it factory reset, draining the battery, and even changing the firmware and still no luck. Luckily, I still had my warranty and so I took to a Samsung service center, and I saw a woman having the same problem because her phone was stuck on the bootup logo. I had to wait 3 weeks just for the goddamn confirmation letter for the replacement of my phone. After getting the letter, I took it to the place where I bought my phone and got the phone replaced. But they had to ask for the box and the accessories, and I thought that they would replace it too, so we had to make another goddamn trip to the house, only to find out that they needed some confirmation if I really bought the phone from their store and they didnt replace the accessories, like WTF. If they needed some proof about the purchase of the product from the store, I had the *****ing receipt ready in my hands, but they said they needed the box and accessories and all that *****. When I buy a new phone next time, it's definitely not going to be a Samsung.
