Open pages & apps problem?

Hello, just got android 12 on my A525g & loving it but I can't work out how to get my open pages & apps in the top to bottom style . It has reverted to the laft to right or vice versa page flick style. 

I had all my open stuff from top to bottom in a neat order & really want it back. I really hope this makes sense .

Hello Steve, I am not explaining myself very well . I open an app or page on my phone & when I want to swipe between them I used to see them in a bullet like share running from top to bottom of the phone, I could then touch one & resume looking at say ebay, amazon, Spotify etc, they now appear in a swipe display instead of the bullet shaped top to bottom style. Not good at this stuff & thanks for the help
