NFC and SD card not working Galaxy a52

Hi,

I've changed the screen of my Galaxy a52 and since then the NFC does not work any more and so does the SD card reader.

For NFC, I don't use a pay service but I used it to take the metro and to use the identity verification of my country (France), none of these services are working, that is why I suspect it comes from my phone.

For SD card, I've reformated it and my phone still indicates that it is in reading mode...

Thanks for your help

I note you've " changed the screen " of your phone @Celia2m

This may have caused internal issues.

Was this performed by a Samsung Service Centre.

If so go back and ask for support.

If it was by someone else then you'll need to approach them.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

Hi,

Thank you for your answer.

Unfortunately no my screen was not changed by a Samsung Service Center and I cannot go back to where it was changed.

You think it is a mecanical issue on the NFC bloc? How can I be sure of that, is there a way to test? Can the NFC bloc be changed on a Galaxy a52?

Thanks for your help.

Hi @BandOfBrothers ,

Do you know how I can be sure that the NFC bloc has been damaged? Can the Samsung Service Center change it?

Thanks for your help

A Samsung Service Centre can certainly assess the phone, however if the unauthorised repair shop has indeed caused issues, then they may charge a fee.

You'll only know if you have the phone looked at @Celia2m

@Celia2m: Before you arrange an inspection, you may wish to head to the Samsung Members app > Support > Phone diagnostics > NFC, and follow the on-screen instructions. Does this return an 'Action required' notification in the summary at the end of the test? If you can see an SD card option in the diagnostics, run through this test as well, as this will help to determine if the issue is hardware related.

Hi @AndrewL ,

Thank you for the suggestion, I've tested and the NFC seems ok (see screenshot), the SD card as well...

So it means that it is not hardware related? Now I don't even know if the samsung service center would be able to help me since there is no visible damage.

Thanks for your help.

@Celia2m: If the diagnostics have not flagged any issues with the NFC feature, then your issue could potentially be software related, or stemming from the app you're using to verify your identity. You mentioned that you changed your screen prior to the problems occurring. Did you arrange this via an authorised Samsung Service Centre, or a third party? If the screen was changed by an unauthorised third party, then it is possible that the parts used were not genuine, or the work was not completed to factory specifications, which can lead to performance and compatibility issues.

Regarding your SD card, have you checked to see if there is a small switch in the top left corner as you look at it? If so, it may be the case that you have locked the card in read mode, so this is worth exploring as an option.
