Mobile data connectivity issue

I recently got a software update on my galaxy A52s 5g. The mobile data usually works on 4g+ but whenever it switches to 4g, it stops working. Before the update everything was fine, but after the updates it works on 4g+ for 5 to 10 seconds and switches back to 4g making it difficult for me to use mobile data. I tried resetting network settings, it didn't work.

 Any fixes?

Hello @Momin23 and may I extend a Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum 👋

I can appreciate how frustrating this must be.

Resetting the Network Connections is definitely a good troubleshooting step 👍 and it's unfortunate this hasn't solved your issue.

Can I ask does this issue with mobile data happen everywhere or in a particular area 🤔

I'm thinking possible a mast issue or network congestion.

Other troubleshooting steps you could try are >

1. Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files.There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too { Possibly excluding the s²⁴ Series of phone's }

2. Take out the sim and gently wipe and reinsert.

3. Try the sim in the secondary sim slot if relevant.

4. Try the sim card in another phone to see what happens with mobile data to help rule out a sim card issue. If this turns out to be a sim card issue then your network can provide a sim swap which is where your number and contact is moved to a blank sim card.

5. Try another Sim card in your phone to help rule out a phone issue. If the alternative sim does not work then you can send feedback via your Samsung Members App too for samsung to analyse or arrange for a Samsung Service Centre or Samsung Experience Store to have hands on > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/repair/

6. As a very last resort back up and factory reset before using a Samsung Service Centre.

Thank You @BandOfBrothers  for your suggestions.

  1. I tried changing the sim slot, it did not work
  2. I tried my sim card in another phone, it was working fine.
  3. I tried a different sim card in my phone, I faced the same problem.
  4. The issue of connectivity was not in a specific area, I faced the problem everywhere I went.
  5. I visited a samsung customer care near me, they said we will reinstall the software, if the issue persists, we will check the hardware.

Solution

Wiping the system cache partition did the job for me. Currently, the mobile data is working fine and I haven't faced any problem.

You're very welcome @Momin23

I do understand it's frustrating when a function isn't working as it should,  especially one that keeps us connected.

I'm glad to hear your issue has now been resolved, and can get back to using your phone as intended.

Seasons Greetings 🎄

I also have this issue, tried multiple sim cards and none solved the issue, no network outages either and it happens almost all places I travel to

Hi, quick update, I've informed samsung about this issue, which is an issue caused by the one UI 6.1 update and they have informed me they will look into this so hopefully this issue will be fixed relatively soon

This issue has now been fixed by one of the app updates in the galaxy store (possibly either continuity app, samsung pass or quick share)

I got simular problems and nothing worked of the above. I changed provider to Mucho/Beecom carrier and mobile data is limited to 2Mb/s. Provider confirms that it is not throtteled by them.

Happens for some apps, e.f. pkay store has full download but browser only 2. When running browser over vpn it works except limit of vpn provider, but goes up ocer 20Mb/s.

So it seems that UDP communication is fine but TCP is throttelt. This happens on every Samsung device. Theortling in debug mode is deactivated and WLAN works fine.

Any idea or is this a Samsung problem?
