issue Samsung Galaxy A5 2017

My sons Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 will not charge or power on. Have changed battery and still not working . What could be the problem.

broken charge port if not charging or if charging but not turning on then it's a dead logic board and he will need a new phone as repair is almost as expensive as a new device

try another cable and charger before replacing the phone if you haven't already done so. even connecting on
to a computer with a known working cable should show if the phone charges at all

@Maybaby: Further to the advice offered by @antikythera please try connecting the phone to another compatible charger, as this will help to determine if the issue lies with the charger or the phone/USB port itself. Also, while connected to a charger, try pressing the Volume Down and Power buttons together for around 10 seconds to see if you're able to power on the device in this manner. if it remains unresponsive after trying the above steps, please reach out to our Help Desk on 0333 000 0333, or via Facebook or Twitter, where an advisor will be able to assist you further, and arrange any necessary repairs.

My Samsung A3 (2017) did the same & it was the cable. The cable you had with the phone had a USB on it, can you connect this to another charger or computer to see if it's the cable. If it's the cable don't spend a fortune on one. Samsung charger cable from Amazon £2.50.
