Customisation is pretty good on Samsung phone's along with using Samsung Goodlock and it's Plug Ins.
There are launchers such as Nova Prime as one example which can add features and customisations too.
There are also YouTube videos that could help you unlock the potential of this phone.
If you long press on your Home Screen along with other options you'll be presented with the option to add Widgets too.
