Hi My old LG Phone recently died after about 5 years of great service, to replace it I got a Samsung A04 thinking this basic phone would do what I want. Unfortunately the new A04 seems to have an appalling GPS and one of the Apps I use a lot (strava) basically no longer works because of constant false GPS locations. I have tried altering the settings, turning the WIFI / Bluetooth accuracy on and off but to no avail. I also updated the software to One UI 5.1 but it hasn't helped. Below is an example of the error - This was the phone runnng Strava whilst sat on a desk, the phone never moved but the GPS signal was all-over. Anybody solved this problem or is the GPS just useless on Samsungs?

After trialling many different options and settings I have managed to get the GPS to work noticeably better. The problem seems to be with Samsungs battery optimization, I have turned this setting off.
I can only guess that the battery optimization must turn the power to the GPS system down so much that it beomes unreliable.

I thought I had solved this problem but the GPS is still not working properly - I think I am out of ideas, What phone has a good GPS? the attachment shows the same bike ride with a friend who had a Iphone 11 and me with the samsung A04 - they recorded an accurate 25 miles, I got 38 miles with the samsung!!!!
