Hi all , currently got a galaxy S8 and I'm thinking of changing it to a galaxy A51 , I've read about people saying the A51 is a bit laggy , I'll only be using this for social media ( Facebook/ Instagram ) calls and texts and web browsing  and NO gaming at all !! Do you own one if so what's it like , thanks

I have a galaxy a70 and I love the battery life and display. it can be a bit choppy at times but the biggest downfall is that Samsung doesn't give the galaxy a lineup great software support like the S lineup so expect to get very few updates and them to be a lot later then the S lineup but if that doesn't bother you the camera is good but it's not flagship quality you would be getting from an S phone but if it's just social media messaging and basics it will get it done and won't hurt your wallet either

As an owner and avid user of the Galaxy A70, which I bought to replace a lost handset of which was the Galaxy A50, (friend has the Galaxy A50 also) both these handsets are absolutely incredible for use, with amazing storage and amazing response times

The Galaxy A51 is to be an upgraded version of the Galaxy A50, and by everything I have read about the comparisons its has by far improved on alot, from the added extra camera and better main and selfie cameras, to the Chipsets and CPU.

I've attached 2 screenshots one from Samsungs Website and another from a site I use for information around them known as GSM Arena, and the link to both.

There is also an A51 5g version and that is amazing. I have been using the A51 5g for a month now and havent regretted it at all. I would truly recommend it 😊

The Galaxy A51 5G is also a good model.

I've attached a comparison of both A51 vs A51 5G from both GSM Arena and Samsung UK.

I like mine so far, I've had it a week. One problem, either I or the phone have deleted a bunch of photos from my SD card. I accept that I could have done something stupid, but I don't know what; I'm equally prepared to blame a phone fault. Would be good to know if anyone else has had the same issue.

if you have an s8, well the a51 is a downgrade in performance. It uses a slower CPU on par with the S7 and GPU is also much worse then the S8. Camera is better however as my a51 5g has the same camera and I can confirm it generally takes better photos then the s8. I would reccoment the a71 or A51 5g as both have a much bigger performance improvement over the S8. The a51 from the reviews I've seen is the opposite of what you want - it seems to have good performance in games but mediocre real world, day to day usage. If you are a light user, you may just get buy with the a51 but if you are looking to keep it for longer then 3 years I would look elsewhere.
