Got Gallaxy A 40 in April.   Keep getting message taking up half my screen saying that 'sim card is not inserted' when I'm making a call.  Tried O2 who sent a replacement sim.  Went to phone shop who did a sft reset.  Still happening.  HELP

same issue here with my A40. tried everything then just give up and got a new phone.

try updating your phone to the latest software, go to settings scroll all the way down and click on software update, check auto update over wifi is selected and then press download and install, let it download and then press install

Hi,
check mobile network and then select network mode and make sure its LTE/3G/2G (auto connect ) and then u can check network operator, u can choose the option from select automatically or select manually. Hope this helps

It's a known and acknowledged (and ignored) hardware defect.

  • Changing/Removing SD card often helps, if you have one.
  • Getting a replacement SIM/SD tray can help alleviating the problem too.
