Fingerprint Sensor Erratic

I often have a problem with the sensor not recognizing one of more of my fingerprints.  

I have re-registered them several times.

What is weird is that if I go into settings and test my fingerprints it recognizes them instantly.

This is very strange.

I get sooooo frustrated with the same,

I have the same with my right thumb print, even though I've registered it twice.

I think it maybe my fingerprint itself.

My left thumb print is fine.

If I breathe or wet my right thumb then it works everytime @gwinegarden

Hi there have you a screen protector on it as they can be a problem I have the s20 ultra and put new protector on and my finger print would not work the best screen protector I have on mine comes from Argos and its £20 for it thanks

No screen protector.  And that would not explain why they are fine when I test them in Settings.

My son has that problem with his finger print as he is a labourer to 2 brickes and finger print worn down
