Sometimes, when I use the fingerprint scanner the light shows up anywhere but under my finger, so I can't get into the phone unless I use the side button to turn it on and off. Also, sometimes the screen dims, while in use, and only the menu buttons work, which is very annoying when I'm in one of many a forum complaining! I've used the device troubleshooting stuff and it got the all clear. I check for updates throughout the day and restart the phone at least twice a day. I never let it go below/above 15-85 percent. This is a recent problem. I think I've had this phone for a year.

Hello @Big_Ape_Toes  👋

I certainly don't blame you being unhappy in regards to how your phone is behaving.

My apologies if you've already tried these generic troubleshooting steps.

Try a forced reboot by holding down the volume down key and power button simultaneously for more than 7 seconds to restart it. When your phone resets, you will feel it vibrate.

Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files.There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too { Possibly excluding the s²⁴ Series of phone's }

Safe Mode  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/ turns off downloaded apps and themes etc which may highlight an app or theme that's causing conflict. Alternatively long press the power off button and then long hold on Turn Off to get to Safe Mode.

If you perform a forum search you may find existing threads with some further help or guidence within.

Send feedback via your Samsung Members App too.

A very last resort is to back up and factory reset but then Reset the phone back up manually.

A Samsung Service Centre can assess your phone.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎
