Recent Oct 24 software update has deemed my phone to not meet secursecurity requirements, when ot was OK beforehand. Has anyone else suffered the same problem? Update clearly has bugs?

It's an A52s 5g used in UK. It has always worked perfectly well with contactless transactions until the software update. Now google wallet states that phone does not meet security requirements. All settings are OK as they have always been. Only change is the samsung update which clearly has bugs. This happened 2 years ago also and only resolved itself after several further updates. Samsung never accepted blame.
You are assuming the update has bugs, this may not be the case.
Google and Samsung are fighting an ongoing war against scammers and fraud and so security gets updated every month.
As @Iminvti has said, clear cache in Google Wallet. Then I would perform a soft reset (hold down volume and side button for about 10 seconds until your device powers off, it will then restart - you won't lose data).
