Hi,
The last couple of days when I have been plugging my A14 phone in to charge, it suddenly doesn't whilst being turned on. A notification has also been flashing up for the last few weeks on and off, either saying 'USB disconnected/ connected' on the screen. The phone seems to charge whilst it is turned off though.

I have tried all sorts such as cleaning the charging port on the phone, turning on safe mode, testing the usb in the diagnostic tool.

Does anyone have any ideas? Should I try clearing cache?

Thank you

Sounds like a damaged or worn connection on the cable

Do try clearing the phone's System Partition Cache Files @lu_xb and run the diagnostic tool in your Samsung Members App.

Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files.There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too { Possibly excluding the s²⁴ Series of phone's }

You can send feedback also via your Samsung Members App.

However a Samsung Service Centre may need hands on too.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "
