Can't turn on notifications for phone or text messaging A70

Recently, phone stopped notifying of text messages. If i go to settings > notification the show notification bar is greyed out. If i go to the app, there is no on/off button, for either messaging or phone.Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Swipe down the notification panel until you see the notification hold it and press sound not silent

Thanks for the rewply. Not able to see that, unless I pulled down the wrong panel. If i go to the apps, messages and phone there is no button to turn on notifications. In the other notification under settings, show notifications is grayed out. A while ago, the buttons were on the app page but disappeared when I got a test message, and did not show a notification  nor was there a sound or vibration. i am still getting notifications from Facebook and Twitter, and a few others.

If it says Silent Notifications HOLD IT and turn to sound
