Bluetooth and music

I use my Bluetooth in my car with Google maps as a satellite navigation device.  This new phone plays the music on my phone at the same time as the vocal instructions, which means I cannot hear the instructions properly.  How do I stop the music from playing?

It might be if I could work out how to follow the instructions. I cannot find how to get to the menu.
