back up data

I'm locked out of my phone and the advice has been to restore factory settings. I want to back up my photos etc before doing this, but it is made difficult as I cant get into my phone.

I saw there was an option on "Find my phone"to back up but It isnt on my home screen. 

Can anyone help me how to do this?

Do you have a Google account ?? As pictures are normally backed up with Google pictures.

how do I access that? I also need my contacts, whatsapp messages etc etc

Sign into Google chrome and click the 9 dots in the right hand top corner
