I have 2 Galaxy A14 5G phones and a (Android auto wireless capable) 2024 Hyundai Kona Essential AWD with the standard infotainment system, non navigation. Both phones have always had issues with connecting to Android Auto (wireless, wired connects fine). However, after 1 to 5 phone projection attempts from the Kona screen, the phones do get (wireless) connected. The phone always shows "Looking for Android Auto" in the notification bar while trying to (wireless) connect.
Here is a video of trying to (wireless) connect one of the phones.
I've discovered that after a failed (wireless) connect attempt, if I turn off Bluetooth, in the phone, for 3 seconds and turn it back on, (wireless) Android Auto will, more often than not, pop up on the Kona infotainment screen without further intervention.
Another, maybe (AA wireless connect) related issue is that I don't get a ringtone in the Kona, I get the incoming call popup but silence instead of the ringtone. If I turn off ring tone sync in the phone's advanced Bluetooth settings, I get a default ringtone from the Kona infotainment system when a call comes in.
Since last April, I've worked with Hyundai, Samsung members and Android Auto support but they all gave up. (did cache clear, network reset, AA update, updated firmware, factory reset on both phones, multiple times, as requested).
Someone at the dealership connected a Galaxy S22 without a problem.
Since toggling the phone Bluetooth connects (wireless) Android Auto along with the Bluetooth ringtone sync issue and a S22 connected fine, I feel the problem is in the A14 5G phones.
I'm hoping someone at Samsung will read this and get someone from technical support involved to fix the issues. (Samsung Members wouldn't escalate the case)
Of course any input is welcome.

Hi and welcome, so does your Kona (would assume it does) support AA Wireless?.
Does AA work using a direct cable connection?

Yes, 2024 Hyunda Kona supports AA wireless and the Samsung Galaxy A14 5G connects by both cable (instantly) and wireless, but wireless only connects after multiple tries by selecting phone projection on the screen in the Kona. The video I posted shows how long it takes to connect via wireless. In the video it took 2 tries to connect, sometimes can take up to 5 tries. Once connected it stays connected and works perfectly.
We have Two A14 5G phones which exhibit the same AA wireless connect issue.

I have never bothered using the Wireless projection car option.
Have you tried a cache clear of Android Auto ?
Personally I always wanted AA Wireless with wireless charging, but found on all my devices the device runs VERY HOT, I so I went back to cable.

Yes, Samsung and AA support had me send logs, do cache clear, network reset, factory reset, a few times. The support at Samsung members is frustrating. They only respond to the last message in a case instead of reading the history. So you end up repeating the same steps over and over and they seem to reply with canned responses based on a script written for the problem. In most cases that's probably OK but this is an abnormal situation. I tried to get them to escalate the case but instead, they stopped responding.
Must be the A14 5G phones, S22 and S23 phones connect via wireless just fine.

To prove the point, I resurrected the cheap chinese Umidigi Power 3 phone that I had before getting the Kona. I swapped my sim card in to it and paired it to the car and BOOM. wireless Android auto works perfect. I can get out of the car and when I get back in, AA wireless connects, without having to do anything. It just works. As opposed to the A14 5G taking minutes to get connected.
I really hope someone from Samsung will read this and passes the issue up the line to technical support for the Samsung Galaxy A14 5G fixed so that the phone firmware can be fixed Android auto works the way it is supposed to.

"Samsung Members" is an app on the phone that connects users to Samsung support.
Not talking about here in the community forum but I do hope someone from Samsung is paying attention.

Yesterday, I got in the car, started it, didn't try a Phone Projection connect. I shut off both WiFi and Bluetooth for 3 seconds, then turned them back on. Android Auto popped up on the Kona screen, Just like the S23 does.
I wish Samsung would fix the bug in my two Galaxy A14 5G phones firmware so they connect like other Samsung phones with wireless Android Auto.

6 times today, I was in and out of the car. Everytime I got back in, I toggled wifi and Bluetooth off and on. Each and every time doing that brought up Android Auto, instantly. Just like the Galaxy S23.
If you have an A14 5G phone, this is the best you can do to make using wireless Android Auto less of a pain.
Maybe someday, Samsung will get interested and fix the bug in the A14 5G software. firmware.
