Hey,
I've noticed a problem with my A70 regarding trying to dim the screen when locking manually or expecting it to lock after screen timeout.
Basically, my phone won't sleep, at least not whilst charging. I spent a good while playing around with settings on my phone, such as timeout and lock screen settings. I also powered off the device but no luck.
After trying to figure out the problem further I discovered that the notification tray is being constantly updated every few seconds swapping between "Android system USB connector connected" and "Android system USB connector disconnected". So presumably this is what is keeping the phone awake as it thinks it is being constantly connected and disconnected from source USB source. I cleaned out the USB port but it was pretty clean to begin with. I'm not getting any notifications regarding any moisture detection.
The A70 charges just fine (though sometimes there is a slight delay to it recognising being plugged in) and it seems that the USB tethering interface is working well as I can use the remote debugging feature in Google Chrome (for web development purposes) just fine. As far as I can tell, there are no actual issues with the USB port - it functions as I would expect.
The A70 was last updated on the 14th August to "Security Patch level: 1 July 2019" and looking over the log of updates I see that "The charger/USB port's moisture detection algorithm has been improved" - so someone somewhere has been looking at this feature and I doubt it coincidence that my device has just developed a fault, given that I've not had it anywhere near moisture or excessive dirt.. and the port still actually works!
I've also tried Safe Mode but the issue persists. Also, if I power the device off, then plug it into the wall, power it on, the notification issue stops... until I unplug it/switch off the wall socket - then it comes back again.
Anyone else having similar problems?

I just went to samsung service Paris opera and according to the technician who has already seen this kind of problem it would be a motherboard problem to replace.
He flashed my phone but the problem was still present ...
so I left my phone for them to do the repairs and I get it back tomorrow.
I will inform you.
I remain however convinced that the problem is software but we will see, we are VERY NUMEROUS to face this type of problem and not only in France.

My girlfriend has been having the same issue,
It started with a message about fast charging, and then when not connected my USB it kept rolling connected/unconnected.
Turned phone off and then used a toothpick to carefully scrub around the connector, and now all works fine!

Hello guys, I have been having the problem with the phone as well. There is no software issue. The problem is with the charger. I fixed my phone by myself after reserving online. What you need to do is this:
Use the phone until is at 0% .
You need the original charger put the problem is with the cable . Even if it appears that you can connect the cable to the charger both ways , in reality it is not so. Put the cable with the end that has no numbers engraved in the charger. The other end connect it to the phone but be careful to put it in with the side with no engraved numbers up , in the phone . When you connect the cable to te phone you must put it in with the side that has no numbers up. Charge the phone to 80 % . After that you can use the phone with no issues at all but remember to connect the cable always the same. Then you can charge it to 100% doesn't matter just remember to connect the charger the right way . I have been doing this and for 2 months I haven't been getting the notification. Phone works like new .

My problem started yesterday, reading your comments, I did almost everything to solve it, when I spent the battery at 0%, I charged it and it came back to normal, until today I charged normally and when i unpuggled returned, I don't know what to do. I think the problem comes back every time you load it on

I have a contract with Three that includes paying for phone,
My contract is that they provide me with a service,
The phone they sold me isn't providing the service I'm paying for, so they should arrange a replacement phone to be sent to me
