Fine!
The original USB-C to USB-C cable allows data transfer, but the original Samsung cable from an Samsung S10 does not work on the Galaxy A53. Conveniently there is of course also no USB-C to USB-C charger included in the Galaxy A53, so that the original A53 cable cannot even be used conveniently
Is that how things are supposed to work? This really hurts my trust in Samsung and I feel really cheated.

@doir: I'm sorry to hear that your current plug adapter is not compatible with your Galaxy A53. The USB-C cable included with the phone can be used to charge the device via a home computer, for instance, but you can also purchase a 25W adapter from our website at a relatively low cost (currently £11.90)
The white variant is available now, while the option in black is currently out of stock. In this instance, if you select 'Receive Stock Alerts' at the top of the page, then you will receive an email when more stock becomes available.

Thanks for your reply and I'm very sorry if I sound impolite. I can't wrap my head around it no matter how I think about it.
I'm okay with needing a separate charger. However, I would expect a previous generation one to work!
I haven't heard of new iphones not working with previous chargers. That's the difference for me.
From the samsung website I read: "Existing Galaxy users are encouraged to continue using their current earphones and charging plug"
How is that supposed to work if the previous charging plug is not compatible with the new cable and also the old cable does not work with the phone.
Also how is that supposed to help stop e-waste as claimed here: "Samsung believes the removal of earphones and charger plugs from our in-box device packaging can help address the growing e-waste problem and unnecessary duplication of these items."
And it's on pretty much Samsung's topflight model (S10 -> A53)

See also my previous reply and thanks for taking your time!
The initial issue is not the incompatible charging plug, but the incompatible data cable! Samsung's own data cable, albeit from a previous generation, does not work with its own phone!
You are right, that a cable is not that expensive.
Am I wrong for thinking this is stupid that one phone works with a cable and another not? Do we need a cable for each model of phone from Samsung?
