@dragonet: If you swipe from the top of the screen to the bottom, can you see a power button symbol in the top right, above your Quick panel? If so, tap this symbol and select 'Power Off' from the on screen options to shut down the device. Alternatively, press and hold the Power button on the side of the phone to show the available power options.
