A13 Charging problem

(Topic created on: 12-01-2023 06:07 AM)

I have an A13 purchased in September 2022. It came with a USB-C to USB-C cable which I plug into my desktop PC.  That used to charge my phone quickly and easily until about a week ago. Now it no longer charges that way!  I still see the "lightning flash" symbol but the % doesn't go up. Rebooting the PC and the phone makes no difference. Blasting the connections with compressed air makes no difference either.

The problem seems to have cropped up after an automatic system update. I have tried to check if any settings were changed without my knowledge but haven't found anything that looks different.

It just so happens that my OH also has an A13 which was purchased in December 2022. Her phone came with an adaptive fast charging wall plug and a USB to USB-C cable. I can charge my phone no problem using her plug and cable but cannot charge it any longer from my PC.  She can charge her phone using my PC and USB-C to USB-C cable, so I know that the problem isn't the PC or the cables. It has to be something else.

So It seems that something has happened to my phone stopping me from charging it the one way but still letting me charge it the other way.

Can anyone shed any light on this mysterious problem?

Certainly seems a conundrum and you've performed all the troubleshooting routes you can.

What happens if you try another computer 🤔

Maybe another update may help.

Do try > Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files. There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too.

Until then it looks like you'll have to use an alternative method to charge.

If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate. Take care.  😎

I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Thanks for your comments. I'll try what you've suggested. I forgot to mention that I had already tried putting my phone in safe mode. That made no difference to the charging problem.
