I have a samsung s9, and have just bought a samsung A12. 
I used the smart link to transfer everything but in the process not all the photos copied ok. More than half just show a quotation mark and will bot open, on new or old phone. Have even tried copying to computer but still wont open. 
Does anyone know how I can get them back or sort it.

I personally use my Samsung Cloud back up to transfer information over and I also use Dropbox.

It does sound like something has glitched @Simpo68
