Hlw Samsung Team, Actually I have a suggestion regarding the Software update Support for New Samsung A series like Samsung A55 5G and A35 5G , You Need to provide us atleast 7 years os and same 7 years security updates for Both Devices, It's just my Request or suggestion, If you think it is correct so try to implement and extend the updates policies for these devices.

Hello @SinghA55 👋

I also think personally this would be a good marketplace move for Samsung to extend this to all phone's.

As the relevant Samsung Department would not see your post here on the forum, jf might be beneficial to submit your feedback via the Samsung Members App too. 🤔

Take care 😎

I personally find the 7 years Os updates a gimmick.

1. The battery won't last that long and will need a change.

2. Tech is moving so fast, and the software updates break the phones rather than enhance them ( look at all the posts with the s22 and s23 series)

3. Google itself had trouble with the release of android 15 this here.

4. The s24 series didn't have an updates at all the whole except one and now the one ui 7 beta.

5. With powerfull phones like the S series struggling with the updates. I have little hope for the A series even if then do implement it.

And most people keep phones past 2-3 years now.

The tech in A Series devices will be superceded so quickly as to make 7 year update policies irrelevant.

There are reasons why A Series devices (which are good devices in their own right) get less than the more expensive S Series.......

It doesn't really bother me. I don't intend to keep a phone for 7 years. A lot of people have phones on contract so upgrade every 2 to 3 years. I doubt the batteries will last that long anyway.

The A16 was released with a promise of 6 OS and 6 years of security updates. That's what all new A series phones will get, except for the A0X phones. The A35 and A55 have 4 OS and 5 years of security updates and that won't be extended.

As long as the security updates are 7 years that should help the a series not slowing down to much

@SinghA55 Really cannot see this happening, think there will be technical limitations upgrading A devices for significant periods of time. Even in the Flagships will not be a seamless experience after say 5 years and issues with some apps.

However realise why longer term support gives piece of mind, though many will upgrade well before the n.
