High background usage since Beta 2

I've been monitoring 2 applications in device manager. Why is Game launcher and Google Play Services running through the background for so long? It was OK in the first beta, since beta 2 battery life has been terrible. Could this be the cause?

Since the past week or so, I haven't launched or played any games. All apps up to date.

Is anyone else getting the same issue? As always, I'll send a bug report.

Install galaxy labs, and the battery guardian plugin on it. It shown a few processes in there that didn't appear on the battery usage stats in the settings app (which is rubbish that it doesn't show everything)
