Lots of reviews on the Play Store recently are saying it doesn't update even though it says there's an update available. I wonder if Google have pulled the update, which might mean they know there's an issue.
I found a work around which has fixed my issues, which I hope is now permanent. open play store, search 'chrome', select 'uninstall', once done select 'update' (not install option)
Ah shoot. I just did the "uninstall updates" on the play store, and it's basically reset chrome. Lost all my open tabs. So, warning... don't do that if you need your open tabs 🤦♂️
